The original footrests on the BMW R65, R80, and R100 are positioned relatively far forward. In addition to the unusual seating position, the space between the carburetor and the footrest is very limited. To create enough clearance, BMW offset the right and left footrests by approximately 40mm. Despite this, riders with larger feet, in particular, often hit the carburetor float chambers when shifting or braking.
The SE footrest adapters align the footrests at the same height. We set the brake side back 65mm and the shift side back 105mm. We also lower the height slightly by 10mm to make the knee angle even more comfortable. 

Note: Some Twinshock models were equipped with shift linkages where the threaded rod cannot be easily replaced. You can easily identify the difference by comparing the last image with the linkage on your motorcycle. In that case, you will additionally need this item:
