If you would like to have your BMW Monolever fork lowered and at the same time completely technically overhauled, we offer a coordinated complete solution from our suspension department. You send us both of your fork legs and receive the fork back overhauled, ready for installation, and shortened to the desired dimension.
For our Sport-Evolution concept bikes, we generally shorten Monolever forks by 50 or 80 mm, depending on the model and conversion concept. These settings have proven themselves in our test rides as a very balanced compromise between ride comfort, handling, and harmonious vehicle geometry. In particular, the feel for the front wheel and precision on winding country roads can be significantly improved as a result.
As part of the BMW fork service, the front fork is completely disassembled and thoroughly cleaned. We then inspect and measure the relevant components, fork tubes, and guides. The stanchions are professionally shortened and provided with the necessary new grooves for the circlips.
This is followed by reassembly with new fork oil seals, dust caps, and a specially adapted linear Sport-Evolution spring kit. The oil quantity and air gap are adjusted to the modified fork configuration.
Scope of services:
The suspension modification is particularly suitable for classic BMW 2-valve motorcycles and BMW boxers of the Monolever series, for example, R65, R80, and R100.
