Shortening valves
In some cases, it is necessary to shorten the valves. This may be the case if the cylinders have been shortened considerably and the adjustment range of the valves is no longer sufficient for a down-valve engine, if there are no longer suitable valve adjustment shims available for OHc / DOHC engines, if the seat has been milled too deeply and the spring preload is no longer sufficient, etc.
