This power kit is an all-inclusive service. You bring your vehicle to us, we carry out the entire conversion and tune the ignition system and carburettors on our dynamometer. A measurement of the input power and the final measurement after the conversion are obligatory.

As already described in Nr. Power-Kit, the first and most effective measure is to convert your BMW 2-valve engine to the SE 1070cc Torque Kit. However, to fully realise the potential of this big bore kit, the conversion to an SE twin ignition is recommended. An additional 9 hp and more than 13 Nm are mobilised. The result is a real powerhouse.
What are the benefits of dual ignition? With a large combustion chamber diameter, combustion takes a relatively long time from the first ignition to the complete ignition of the entire mixture. When the highest combustion pressure is reached at top dead centre of the piston, parts of the mixture have burnt off uselessly or have not yet ignited. As a result, potential power and torque is lost and the exhaust values deteriorate (high HC values).

The diagram shows the power and torque of a fully standard BMW R80 and a fully standard BMW R100. The performance curves of a 2-valve engine that has been upgraded with our SE 1070cc Torque Kit and converted to dual ignition with the SE ignition system are also compared.
