It is mounted directly under the gearbox and thus lowers the centre of gravity even further. A clear view through the frame triangle gives the BMW a wiry look. The battery box is made to hold our HJP14 and HJP18 lithium-ion batteries, or for vehicles with more extensive electrical equipment, HJTX20. All batteries do their job without any problems, even with high compaction. The batteries have a weight of 1000g, respectively 1100g. The weight saving is more than 10 kg! A lithium ion battery can withstand six times as many charge cycles as a conventional battery. The self-discharge rate is only 5 percent per month.
